EOTC 2016

This week and last week we were doing EOTC. EOTC stands for Education outside the classroom. For 3 out of the 4 days it was my class and room 3. Now let's go to what we did.

First we did surfing and body boarding at Sumner beach last Thursday. When we got to Sumner beach we had to put our bags under a white tent so they don't get wet. Then we sat on this white mat and the instructors talked about what we will be doing and how to stay safe in the water. After we talked about how to stay safe in the water we were split into groups, the groups were year 5s in my class, year 6s in my class and room 3. Room 3 was group 1 year 5s were group 2 and year 6s were in group 3, I was group 2. The groups were into smaller groups seels and dolphins but we were still in out big groups. The seels did surfing first and the dolphins did body boarding first. My friend Alexis and I was in Dolphins. My friend Sharney was in seel. Then we had to put a wet-suit on group 2 had to swap with people from group 1. After we put the wet suit on we warmed up we did arm circles, balancing on 1 leg, ankle circles, knee circles and leg circles. Then we went down on the beach and got the body board or surf board and went in the water.
After we went in the water we had lunch school brought fish n chips. I had chips and a hot dog. Then the groups seel and dolphin swapped around. After group 1 we warmed up and went surfing.

On Friday we went to Adrenalin forest and Spencer park. I was late to this one because I had an eye appointment and the teachers already new about it. A boy in my class called Remco was late to so we went in my teachers car. After we got to Spencer we played on the play ground till lunch time. After lunch time I went to Adrenalin forest and I was so scard I had to get of.

On Monday we went to mega air and we walked after a group chat and lined up. I got up to the top  of the block that we jumped on the trampoline and jump onto. Also this is my 2nd time going to Mega air.

Last one was top team. We were split into groups 1 - 18 I was in group 3. there was heaps of activity and most of us wore spear clothes.

Diwali DLO

2016 reflection on a powtoon

2 days ago I started a powtoon, I was meant to start it 3 days ago but I wasn't here the 1st day.  We had to do a powtoon about our 2016 reflection about our year at Hornby Primary School.

How to make a powtoon:
Get the app powtoon, press the new button and choose your layout. Then you started a powtoon. After that you have to press the new slide button then write what you wanna write.

Dear future me

Dear future Me,

By the time you read this many years will have passed.  In fact you will be turning 25 years old.  This is a little reminder of what your goals, dreams and aspirations were as an 9 year old.

Did you get a job looking after horses and ponies?  Did you remember to give them food and drinks everyday? If you did look after horses and ponies who is your favorite? How old are the horses? Who's the youngest and oldest?  Did you have a horse riding uniform?

What sport did you do? Right now I want to do gymnastics and Netball. Did you do any of these? If you did do gymnastics did you get more flexible? If you did Netball did you get better and better each time?

What happened at high school? Did I still talk to my friends that were at primary school that didn’t go to the same high school? If you did who was it?

Did you visit Los Angeles? If you did what did you do there? Where did you stay?  What day did you go to Los Angeles? What day did you leave Los Angeles

This is my favorite things to do as an 9 year old. Doing gymnastics at home because I watched a video on youtube and we got a trampoline at the time, go to school because I have been going to the same school for nearly 4 or 5 years. Winter sports/at school because in 2016 I started Netball and it was super fun and in 2017 I am going to do winter sport as well but I don’t know what sport yet.

Update on Diwali

Here is an update on my Diwali work I am doing my group finished the mindmup and this is what we are working on now.
This is called a venn diagram:


We used the venn diagram to think of ideas of what we do at Christmas and what they do at Diwali and see how they match.  This is what I have on my venn diagram. Next step is to make a DLO you will be seeing it soon. Enjoy.
